arcadia house

Arcadia House is an addition to a rural cottage on the outskirts of Sydney. The addition takes the same form as the original hipped roof cottage and is positioned to create a central open air courtyard between the two structures. An outdoor fireplace encourages gathering and makes the courtyard a new focal point for the home. A covered verandah links the two forms providing protection from the western sun and framing views to the bushland site.
